Since 2003, Arabesque Dancewear has been a trusted part of the Gainesville, Florida dance community, proudly serving dancers of all ages and stages. What began as a local dance shop has grown into a destination for professional pointe shoe fittings, high-quality dancewear, and personalized service that dancers and families rely on. From baby beginners taking their first class to pre-professional teens and recreational or professional adults, Arabesque is committed to supporting every dancer’s journey with care, expertise, and encouragement.

Arabesque Dancewear specializes in personalized pointe shoe fitting services, offering one-on-one guidance tailored to each dancer’s unique feet, strength, and experience. We also provide sewing services for pointe shoes, ensuring ribbons and elastics are securely attached so dancers feel confident and performance-ready. Our thoughtfully selected inventory includes leotards, tights, shoes, accessories, and gifts—everything a dancer needs under one roof. Gift wrapping is also available in-store, making Arabesque a favorite stop for special occasions and milestones.

Owner Erin is no stranger to both the dance and business worlds. A Gainesville native and University of Florida graduate, she has been part of the dance community for over 20 years as a dancer, teacher, and choreographer. Blending her passion for dance with her entrepreneurial spirit came naturally, and today Erin is proud to operate a business she truly loves and believes in. She values building relationships with dancers and families and finds joy in being part of each dancer’s growth—from pre-dance through pre-professional and professional levels.

As a locally owned, women-owned business, Arabesque Dancewear is deeply rooted in the community and guided by strong core values. FAQ

Do you carry both adult and children’s dancewear?

Yes! We offer a wide selection of dancewear for both adults and children, including apparel, shoes, and accessories for various styles of dance.

Do I need to make an appointment for a pointe shoe fitting?

Appointments are not required, and walk-ins are always welcome. However, we do recommend calling ahead when possible. We have a limited number of trained fitters available, and if both are assisting other customers, there may be a wait.

What should I bring to my pointe shoe fitting?

Please bring everything you typically wear to dance class. This includes your tights, any padding or toe accessories, and your current pointe shoes if you have them. Having your usual items helps ensure the most accurate and comfortable fit.

Do you offer custom pieces?

Yes! We offer custom pieces tailored just for you! Give us a call to make an appointment and we’ll help you design something special.
